NOW AT GEN

It's here! As the year comes to its end, our campaign, "Finding Solutions for Local Relief in Global Crisis" is full-on.

We are sharing ReGENerative Solutions and collecting donations that are crucial for GEN's work. This is a unique possibility to multiply your contribution - all donations before the 5th of December will be doubled by the Reed Foundation!

A Big thank you to all of you that have already donated and shared your reGENereative solutions on social media. In the next 4 days, we still need to collect £4,500. Please share the call with your friends and let's reGENerate together!

One donation has twice the impact!

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world; indeed it is the only thing that ever has.”
– Margaret Mead
🗣️ We challenge you to join the ecovillage movement by donating and sharing a picture, video, or story of an inspiring regenerative solution you have encountered. Then continue the chain by nominating at least one other to participate.

Volunteering with the Global Ecovillage Network

For over 6 years, the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) has enabled youth to live in Findhorn Ecovillage and work with GEN for one year as a part of the European Solidarity Corps programme. With the departure of Alisa and Ruben, who you can see in this photo, comes the end of an era as they are the last youth to come to Findhorn through this programme, as the European Union funding here in Scotland ended due to Brexit.

For now, it is time to celebrate all that they have brought to the GEN and Findhorn communities. During their time with us, Alisa actively supported the fundraising team and GENOA. Rubén supported the Communication and IT teams, as well as tech support for our last Ecovillage Design Education course.

Thank you Alisa and Rubén for your commitment, love, care, passion, and joy! Rubén will continue working towards regenerative living with the Transition Network of Spain and Alisa will continue working with GEN as a volunteer.

👁️‍🗨️ Check out Rubén's article, Real utopias to tune in to the rhythms of the Earth” to find out more about his experience.

🌏 If you would still like to come to Findhorn as a volunteer, check out the volunteer positions with the Findhorn Foundation.

Eco-Schools for Eco-Communities, SCOPE Malawi

We are celebrating the completion of the Eco-Schools for Eco-Communities project, a collaboration between GEN International and SCOPE Malawi, which increased the climate resilience and food security in five schools in Southern Malawi. The Chikwawa and Thyolo districts were some of the most affected by cyclone Idai in 2019 and are still affected by seasonal flooding, dry spells, and hunger.

Through the project, five Eco-School demonstration sites were created in existing schools. The school's communities and stakeholders received training in the construction and use of rocket stoves, climate-resilient crops, agroecology, and water harvesting. They also received ecovillage design education from GEN and a series of webinars to motivate their teachers, students, and stakeholders to transform the school grounds into "Eco-Schools."

Download the Regenerative Schools manual created for Malawi Educators and learn about the project's approach to integrating the ecovillage approach and permaculture principles in schools.
