Multifamily Housing Units Continue to Rise in Sumter County

Since Sumter County initiated a housing study in 2018, over 7,000 units of multifamily housing have been announced. An estimated two thirds of those units are currently under construction or already completed. Project representatives and realtors confirm that the units are filling up quickly and demand remains strong. The building pictured above is part of the Beaumont Development located along CR 466A and CR 462 in the City of Wildwood. The development will feature over 300 market rate apartments ranging from 1-3 bedrooms.

Sumter County was founded in 1853 and this year celebrates its 169th anniversary!
Sumter County contains five incorporated municipalities, they are the Cities of Wildwood, Bushnell, Center Hill, Coleman, and Webster.

Manufacturers in Florida account for 5.32% of the total output in the state, employing 4.46% of the state's workforce. Total output from manufacturing was $58.88 billion in 2019. Sumter County is covered by the Mid-Florida Manufacturers Association which advocates on behalf of manufacturers in a four county region.
