A Message from our Worship Pastor, John Talley
I’ve had the challenge and joy of doing the “giving emphasis” in our worship services these last few months. It’s fun finding new resources and making up funny lists of why we should give. The truth is we should give because we love God, follow His Word and trust in Him. The challenge is that our bank balance sometimes says we’ll do good to just pay the bills! It’s easy to talk about faith; it’s another to put it into practice. I challenge you to practice it! Tithe first and try living on 90%. It may work out better than your math says it will!
When you choose to give online the top two options are Tithe and Finishing the Task.
When you tithe, that money goes to the budget which funds things like salaries, discipleship, youth, children, music, and other ministries. It also funds our building payment, utilities, operational expenses along with allowing us to give to local and world missions. However, through mid-December we’ve outspent our giving by $60,000.
When you give to Finishing the Task, that money goes to pay off the loan that funded the build-out of our facility. This capital stewardship campaign ends in March 2023. We have a balance of approximately $500,000 left on that loan.
2022 has been a great year! THANK YOU! We’ve baptized over 25 people and another 23 have joined by statement or transfer of letter. We’ve celebrated Pastor Robert Miller’s retirement of 40+ years in ministry. Our new pastor, Pierce Eaton, and family are coming in January. Weekly ministry along with camps and VBS have impacted lives and laid the foundation of faith in kids, youth and adults. Our worship has continued to grow and glorify God, and we’ve reached many locally and abroad through technology. THANK YOU! Your giving makes all of those things possible!
Our giving totals this budget year (April 2022 – March 2023)
Budget/Tithe $752,409
Finishing the Task $211,200
That’s almost $1 million given in the first three quarters of our budget year! THANK YOU!
When you give, you also get a tax deduction. More importantly, you are being obedient to God and His Word. You are exercising your faith in Him.
In this last week of 2022, would you consider giving an extra gift to FBCTC?
