Four years ago, Farming Hope opened our first brick-and-mortar space: Farming Hope at Manny’s. Our partnership with Manny’s helped transform Farming Hope into a thriving organization; we started off training five Apprentices in our first year and we now train over 30 folks overcoming barriers to employment every year.
Farming Hope is graduating to its next chapter and our time at Manny’s is ending. In 2023, we will be focusing our efforts on growing our job training program, food insecurity work, and recovering food waste at our community food hub, Refettorio San Francisco.
The inspiring vision behind Manny’s space, a true civic gathering space, is sorely needed in every city in the U.S. We will always be grateful for our time at Manny’s, and will continue to stay friends with our community there. And don't worry, Manny’s has plans for a new food partner, to be announced soon.
We invite you to stop by for one last latte or a shakshuka! Our final day of Farming Hope at Manny’s will be Tuesday December 20th, 2022.
While one door closes, another one opens, and we couldn’t be more excited to share that we will literally be opening new doors in 2023! Refettorio San Francisco will be moving from our current location on Fell Street to 690 Van Ness Ave. This beautiful space was home to the SF Cooking School for the past decade and we look forward to continuing to build the City's culinary workforce and carry on their legacy.
