Dear Bonjour Paris readers,
The weather’s been so cold this week, I’ve been tempted to hibernate. Or at least hide out in a café all day, where the conversations, clinking cutlery, and espresso machine provide a comforting soundtrack (not to mention warmth… since we haven’t yet turned on the heat in our apartment, trying to do our part to conserve energy because of the looming threat of black-outs). But a few appointments forced me across the river to Châtelet. And as I walked, taking in the shop windows and the glittering lights and the chalets set up in front of the Hotel de Ville and even the slightly cheesy decor at Les Halles, I found that my mood had completely lifted. Simply put: Paris is wonderful during the holiday season. There’s so much beauty shimmering in the cold wintry stillness. Which got me thinking: couldn’t we leave up the decorations through January? Even February?
Speaking of Yuletide: we recently published a gift guide (see below) to help provide some shopping inspiration. Considering a Bonjour Paris membership - which includes free access to our popular Zoom event series? We recently rolled out a “Friends and Family” discount offer which may interest the Francophiles in your life! (Merci for spreading the word.) And BP members can find shopping discounts with companies like Aimee’s French Market and Parapharmacie Monge on this dedicated “member benefits” page.
We hope you enjoy this week's newsletter. As always, thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts. Questions, comments? Feel free to send us a note at the following address: editor@bonjourparis.com.
