4 Best Destinations in Peru
1. The Sacred Valley - The Sacred Valley is a beautiful area outside of Cusco city that captures the culture and history of Peru with the Moray Ruins and Maras Salt Mines. Then visit the town of Ollantaytambo for stunning hikes around the local farming terraces. Be aware that the Sacred Valley is a 90-minute drive from the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport through the mountains, but the views are spectacular and well worth the travel time.

2. Machu Picchu - You can't visit Peru without checking out this new world wonder. To maximize your time here, we recommend you go with a local guide who can share the stories and history of the people who lived there. If you're looking for some additional physical activity and stunning views, check out the Machu Picchu Mountain hike or Huayna Picchu hike.

3. Cusco - When traveling to Cusco, the San Blas neighborhood, just above the city center, is the best place to stay. It's easy walking distance from the Plaza de Armas and San Pedro market which sells everything from textiles, to meat and dry goods, to prepared food and freshly squeezed juices. Cusco has an amazing array of restaurants and foodie experiences from cooking classes to full-table spreads that you can share family-style for dinner.

4. Lima - Home to three of The World's 50 Best Restaurants, Lima is a foodie dream especially if you're staying in the hip Barranco neighborhood. You can experience all the cuisine Peru has to offer from experimental and luxurious tasting menus to sampling delicious bites in unpretentious hole-in-the-wall eateries called huariques where traditional food is served, just like grandma used to make it.
