After 12 years at Museum Street, the Visitor Information Centre is set to move to a new address on Parliament Street later this week. Located in a higher footfall area, the move aims to encourage more visitors and residents to utilise the Visitor Information Centre and enjoy the York welcome that is delivered daily by our team.

The Visit York Tourism Awards ceremony, sponsored by LNER, returns on the 23rd March 2023 at York Racecourse with the best of York’s businesses going head-to-head to win one of 16 trophies. Tickets for the glamorous black-tie event can be booked here. We look forward to celebrating with you all!

Our annual media kit - the 'Book of Ideas', is a great opportunity for you to share your news about new products, openings, events and exhibitions with our large list of media contacts including journalists, travel writers and online influencers and bloggers. Email comms@makeityork.com with your 2023 plans by the end of December.

In addition to our media kit, we are keen to hear about any special plans for the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles II, Eurovision themed events, as well as coastal activities and things to do over the extra bank holidays. These have been identified as VisitBritain's key trends for 2023. Please send your news to comms@makeityork.com for a chance to be included.

The Weekly Springboard report cites that footfall in the city centre was at 36,360 on Sunday 27th November, making it the busiest Sunday of the year so far in York. Since the Christmas Festival started on the 17th November, footfall counts have totalled almost 540,000, with last week seeing over 217,000 visitors in York (28th November to 4th December).

We have an opportunity for members to join us as stand partners for The Meetings Show, 28-29 June 2023 at ExCel London. Visit York and Visit Leeds shared a pod on the UKInbound stand at the World Travel Market in London this November. The show is the largest of its kind and saw record levels of attendance. Over the course of the 3 days, there was a full range of buyers, operators, social influencers and DMCs all looking to feature York in their 2023 and beyond programmes.

We are delighted to welcome the following businesses to our Visit York Membership family this month! It is great to see such a variety of organisations joining us in promoting York as one of the best places to live, work, study and visit.
