Restorative Justice Week
More than 1,500 victims of crime in Greater Manchester in the last three years have communicated with their offender, with 72 per cent saying it helped them to cope and/or recover from the offence.
Kate Green confirmed as new Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester
At the latest meeting of the Greater Manchester Police, Fire and Crime Panel, Kate Green has been confirmed as the new Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester for Policing and Crime. A formal report will be submitted to the Mayor about the Panel’s decision. Green will officially take up her post on 9 January 2023.
Young people show their commitment to being greater than violence
A series of murals, designed and painted by young people, have appeared across Greater Manchester with the words ‘violence isn’t me…. I am greater.’
GMFRS carries out water safety training with businesses
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service has been busy training up staff at businesses on and around Canal Street in water rescue and water safety.
 
Greater Manchester recognises White Ribbon Day 
Leaders and public services across the city region reiterate their commitment to tackling gender-based violence in all its forms. GMCA and GMFRS are once again White Ribbon accredited and are joined for the first time by TfGM. 
Greater Manchester responds to the cost of living crisis 
Building on the success of the GMCA's Helping Hand information, a new campaign will be launching across Greater Manchester next week to support resident's wellbeing and mental health as the cost of living rises.

Greater Manchester and Independent Age launch new guide to support older residents this winter
A new guide has been created for older residents in Greater Manchester, containing advice and key information to help them get the support they need this winter. The Greater Manchester Ageing Hub has partnered with national older person’s charity Independent Age to launch Winterwise, a new guide to keeping well during winter.
Living wage week events in Greater Manchester
Alongside a number of events during the week, new research published during Living Wage Week revealed wider adoption of the real Living Wage could benefit Greater Manchester’s economy by tens of millions of pounds.
Mayor's DJ battle raises money for homelessness project
Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham and Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotherham's DJ battle raises £20,000 for A Bed Every Night. The money raised will fund more than 600 nights of accommodation for those in need.
