Welcome to the final edition of the ARC East Midlands newsletter of 2022!
We wish you a happy Christmas and very best wishes for the New Year.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our colleagues very much for their hard work and dedication this year. As always, we are also very grateful to our patient groups and partners who continue to support our work.

In this edition we share details of our international funding to allow us to make a difference globally. Our recent collaborations include working with colleagues in India and Nepal in a bid to improve the care of people living with multiple health conditions, and a visit to Ghana looking at health screening and education.

Meanwhile, we have been increasing our research profile into Long COVID and supported international research which found that nearly half of the COVID-19 patients were still experiencing symptoms of the virus four months after being infected.

In other news, we’re very pleased to appoint a new joint role with the ARC East Midlands and East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (AHSN). This pivotal link will strengthen collaboration between both organisations to ensure research evidence and innovation makes a difference to patients and all communities.

Finally I wish you and your families a happy, safe and healthy festive season.

With very best wishes
