Holiday Wishes from STEPS!

A blue holiday illustration with wispy butterflies and sparkles in the background. Two whimsical figures are drawing the words JOY in the middle and surrounded by a road. City and neighbourhood landscape surround the road with public art projects among the buildings and houses.
From the entire team at STEPS, we would like to take the time to thank you for playing a role in bringing bright and high-impact public art and community-engaged initiatives to communities across the country. Together in 2022, we accomplished:
  • 300+ paid opportunities for artists and designers
  • 200+ public art projects across 25 cities
  • 1,950+ community members engaged
  • $725,000+ payments to artists and designers

Artists, partners, documentarians and collaborators like you contribute to our vision of co-creating welcoming and meaningful communities and public spaces. We hope you have a safe and restful holiday season, and we look forward to creating more art with you in the new year!

The STEPS office is based in the Ancestral Wendat territory and the shared territory of the Anishinaabeg and the Haudenosaunee, covered by The Dish With One Spoon treaty, and later, Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands. As a national organization, we acknowledge and are grateful for this land on which we work, play and create, that is still home to Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island.

STEPS is committed to cultivating safe spaces for Indigenous voices to be heard. We encourage you to learn more about the land where you reside at native-land.ca
