We've jumped up the national league table for sustainability
The
People and Planet University League results are in and the University of Essex has jumped from 62nd to 31st. Essex is ranked joint first in the UK for 'Education for Sustainable Development' and joint 17th for our approach to carbon reduction.

Essex professor receives prestigious accounting award
Professor Ileana Steccolini, of Essex Business School, has been awarded the 2022 Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal’s
Research Hall of Fame award. Presented every three years, it recognises “distinguished service contributions” to the accounting research community.

New practical measures to aid cost of living crisis for staff
The University’s Council has agreed several temporary initiatives to help support staff over the coming 18 months. The measures, which will be available to staff employed by the University, UECS Ltd and Wivenhoe House Hotel Ltd will be launched for the New Year.

we're investing close to £100,000 in new student jobs on our campuses to help build on our existing package of measures.
