Applications for ELCA Disability grants are being accepted now until February 15. The first thirty will be considered (this may happen before February 15). Of those 30, five will be approved for up to $10,000 for projects. To be eligible for a grant, your project and proposal must reflect at least two of the three commitments of ELCA Disability Ministry:
  • Preparing leaders for serving people with disabilities, raising up people with disabilities for leadership positions, and encouraging the participation of those with disabilities in the wider church.
  • Equipping our synods, congregations and members with relevant and practical information that enables them to welcome and support individuals with disabilities so that they might participate fully in the life of the congregation and that, together, all might experience being the body of Christ.
  • Gathering and connecting those with disabilities and various groups within the church so that they might help us become an inclusive, supportive and whole community of faith.
Email Disability.Ministry@elca.org to learn more.
Registration is open for the ELCA Rostered Ministers Gathering! All rostered ministers in the ELCA are invited to join colleagues under the theme of "Rekindle the Gift Within You."

PRAYERS
For Vicar Dan O'Brien, intern at United, Eugene, and his family parents Steve and Mariann and younger sister Mary, whose family home in Illinois was destroyed in a fire. Thankfully, everyone is safe.

For Pr. Jane Baker and her husband as she enters hospice for her cancer, and for all those struggling with being affected by cancer diagnosis and treatment.

For the family and friends of Pr. Gerald Jensen, who is in hospice with terminal cancer.

For all health care workers, very sick children and everyone needing medical care. Many hospitals are overwhelmed and understaffed, particularly their pediatric intensive care units full of children with RSV.

For Pr. Sharon Hughes and family as they mourn the sudden death of her sister Cathy's husband.

For all families, faith communities and peoples experiencing pain, grief or conflict.

For the people of Ukraine, and for all those who suffer during war.

For all the Ukrainian refugees and those sheltering them, including our sister synod The Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Poland.
Go and do God's work!
