Fuan Nabilan student Fernanda, who has a degenerative eye condition,and has been studying at Cristal Institute (Same) has had her thesis examined on Nov 6, has passed with Grade B, and has received her Degree certificate (see attached photos).
Many thanks to Vicki Standish Foundation for continued support of Fuan Nabilan.
FoS has funded all Fernanda's tuition costs for the past 3 years.

Claire van der Linden (an Australian who has worked with MSF ) visited Same, and visited Fuan Nabilan this week. She has sent this selfie of her with Fuan Nabilan students Ediana and Giovana, and Fuan Nabilan Directors, Joana and Joaquim on the veranda at Fuan Nabilan.

Joaquim, director of Fuan Nabilan has sent the attached photos taken by integration aide Prisca, showing Ediana helping with household tasks and in the garden, and at achool, Fernanda helping in the garden, FN students at secondary school, with integration aide Prisca and sighted students (inclusive education program).

Above are some photos of Fuan Nabilan students at school with Integration Aide Prisca and with sighted students in their class, and also 2 photos of Fernanda (Nanda) (who has a degenerative eye condition) weeding the gourd plants in the garden.The fencing and garden were badly affected by flooding rains a while ago but are recovering.
The last 2 photos are of Ediana, who is completely blind walking home from school with friends (Integration aide Prisca took the photo). Ediana's grandfather died recently so she is wearing a black scarf tied on her head - this is a traditional expression of mourning for close relatives.

Antoninho, Director of Same Youth Centre, has organised the distribution of the sewing machines and materials (donated by Karen's friend and transported by Karen to Rotary DIK) to a group of young women in Datina, Holarua, Same (see attached photos).
They send thanks and Antoninho sends greetings to FoS.

In the background in the 2nd picture is the traditional shelter that Ercilio built while he was on teaching practice.
Thanks to Corpus Christi Social Justice Group for offering to support Ercilio during his final year of teacher training in 2023.

Ercilio has now completed the 3 year Bachelor of Teaching which qualifies him to teach in primary schools in Timor-Leste. He has enrolled for a 4th year, which will give him a Bachelor of Education, and qualify him to teach in secondary schools also.

Rotary Donations In Kind is shipping computers to
Veterans Technical College in Same.
The computers, together with a projector and laser printer will arrive in Same arround 8 Dec

The wholesale price of coffee has increased, so FoS has to increase the price of ground coffee and coffee beans to $10.50/pack for online orders (includes postage).
It is still excellent value for great tasting coffee, and sales go towards FoS projects in Same as well as supporting coffee growers in Timor-Leste'
