Seeds of hope for an artful new year

Dear friends and art lovers,

The promise of new beginnings, of unexpected good fortune and serendipitous love, has long been a central theme of my paintings.

With the new year just around the corner, now is the perfect moment to reflect on the seeds taking root around us while we look to the future with hope and optimism for the fruits we have yet to bear.

Below you’ll find some updates from the gallery that are giving us hope for what 2023 has in store. We hope you’ll be inspired to reflect on the seeds taking root in your life. FEATURED PAINTING

“You are a leaf that dropped from the tree and trembled on my chest. Life’s winds brought you here. At first I did not see you. I did not know that you were walking with me, until your roots pierced my chest, joined the threads of my blood, spoke through my mouth and flourished with me. Suddenly my heart was filled with fruits and seeds. We have grown together but did not know it at first. We did not change it for the seasons. For winter winds did not know you are a leaf, my love, you occupied the house that darkly awaited you and then you lit the lamps.”

This serene painting was completed this year and was inspired by the immortal words of Pablo Neruda, which I translated and reworked through the composition of this painting. PAINTING UPDATE

In the spirit of new beginnings, I recently revisited this work from 2021. Over the last year, I have been focusing on paintings with ever-finer dot work because I love the immense energy that level of detail and precision breathes into a work. STUDIO UPDATE

While studio maintenance is not my favorite part of being an artist, brightening and refreshing my work space is a seed I always push myself to plant during the off-season.

My future self will thank me for providing her the environment she needs to be inspired and work joyfully throughout the year.
