ANEEJ Participates at the 2022 International Anti-Corruption Conference in Washington D.C
Executive Director ANEEJ, Rev. David Ugolor attended the International Anti-Corruption Conference (IACC2022) in Washington D.C., USA, from the 6th to the 10th of December 2022, with the theme "Uprooting Corruption, Defending Democratic Values." At the conference, he spoke on "Recognizing the Rights of Victims and Victim Redress" at a Transparency International-coordinated session on "Getting Serious About Grand Corruption: How to Scale Up Enforcement." He was also a panelist in the documentary screening session. The theme of the session was "6th Official Films4Transparency Festival: Geneva Oil at any cost (Switzerland, 2022)." The screening session aimed to examine oil trading corruption and included a post-show Q&A with participants. See more

Ugolor Speaks on Uniting the World Against Corruption
ANEEJ Executive Director, Rev David Ugolor was live on TVC Breakfast Show on December 9 2022 to discuss the implementation of Buhari’s anti-corruption agenda as it relates to the Niger Delta region. The was part of the events to mark 2022 International Anti-corruption Day and Ugolor used the opportunity to charge the President to take responsibility for the failures of the interventionist institutions like the NDDC set up to develop the Niger Delta. “This is not time to point fingers but take charge”, he said. "At this point in time, the political will of the President is needed to make substantial progress in the fight against corruption that is affecting the entire country." Anambra State Government Set To Implement Social Protection Policy by January 2023
As part of the implementation of the Enhancing Social Protection Programme in Nigeria (ESPPIN) project, ANEEJ in collaboration with the Anambra State government organised a one-day stakeholders validation of the draft Anambra State Social Protection Policy Document/Press Conference on December 8, 2022, in Akwa, the Anambra State capital. At the event, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Ms. Chiamaka Nnake disclosed that the state government is set to implement its Social Protection Policy by January 2023. Read more

SCALE Project Anti-Corruption Cluster Marks 2022 International Anti-corruption Day
On Friday, 9th of December 2022, the Anti-corruption cluster under the SCALE project held simultaneous press conferences in their various project states (Abia, Abuja, Delta, Edo Imo, Ondo, and Rivers) across Nigeria. This was spurred by their collective objective of amplifying the project's goal of Enhancing Anti-corruption and Social Inclusive Reform Initiatives in Nigeria. The events were to commemorate the 2022 International Anti-corruption Day with the theme, "UNCAC @ 20: Uniting the World Against Corruption”. ANEEJ Holds Townhall Meeting to Strengthen Family & Community Resilience Against Serious and Organised Crime
On the 6th and 7th of December 2022, ANEEJ organised a town hall meeting in Benin city, as part of its implementation of the Brighter Future project, to strengthen family and community resilience against Serious and Organised Crime. Members of the project's Crime Prevention Steering Group (CPSG) and Crime Prevention Partnership (CPP) spoke to the target beneficiaries and indirect beneficiaries on the subject matter including responsible and legal ways to travel abroad, dangers of cybercrime and promoting family and community values. Some of the key members of the CPSG and CPP in attendance were: the Edo State Ministry of Justice, Nigeria Police Force-Edo state command, Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Edo State taskforce Against Human Trafficking (ETAHT), Edo State Security Network (ESSN), Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), and Girls Power Initiatives (GPI).
