Your generosity and support have helped inspire millions of people in Central Park (NYC and beyond) to understand why real monumental women need to be acknowledged.

Dear Friends of Monumental Women,

With your support, Monumental Women broke the bronze ceiling in New York City’s Central Park with the unveiling of our Women’s Rights Pioneers Monument. Thousands of people have since used our Talking Statues app to hear the Monument come alive with the voices of Viola Davis, Meryl Streep, Jane Alexander, Rita Moreno, Zoe Saldano and America Ferrara speaking as Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton.

The Monument is inspiring visitors and campaigns across the world to honor diverse women in our public spaces. In 2022, Monumental Women continued to directly assist and uplift countless groups and organizations that are reimagining public spaces that properly pay tribute to the women who create and inspire those communities. – partnering with multiple projects in New York City, Boston, Michigan City, IN, Lexington, MA, Australia and many more.

We unveiled a model Girl Scout patch program that educates girls of all ages about women’s history. We funded and are creating a 1/3-size replica of the WRP Monument for the New York State Museum in Albany, NY.

Initiatives like these were made possible because of you, committed individuals who share our vision of moving history forward with the power of Women’s History. We are very grateful for your past support.

 Monumental Testimonials

“I learnt so much from our conversation and the onsite visit, finding it incredibly informative and helpful when thinking about future projects for Her Place. Not just what Monumental Women does, but your approach and methodology. The work and ambition of the initiative is so impressive, and beautifully and expertly executed!  I hope Her Place can evolve in a similar positive trajectory.”

-- Penelope Lee, Board Director, Her Place Women’s Museum Australia.

"You are inspiring!  It is good for our souls to talk with you both [Brenda and Pam]. Pam, you are correct "Don't lose the Joy!" Thanks for sharing your journey with us and your support.”

-- Lulu LoLo, performance artist, actor/playwright and Board Member Remember the Triangle Fire Coalition [NYC]

"You and your Monumental Women have been an inspiration to me all through our process for Celebrating Naomi Anderson.” [Naomi Anderson was an important and well-known leader in the fight for women’s and African Americans’ rights in the 19th Century. She lived a life of activism and brilliance. Yet possibly even more impressive were her civic activism and compassion.]"

-- Bonnie Schaaf, Co-Chair, Celebrating Naomi Anderson Project Team, Michigan City Commission for Women [Indiana]

"We should be honoring you [Monumental Women] because the whole reason we did this [started the Lorraine Hansberry Initiative] was because we heard about Monumental Women and the sculpture you all were putting in Central Park and we decided to follow suit and follow your example.  Thank you for inspiring us…Thank you especially to Pam for all your guidance, help and wisdom.”

-- Julia Jordan, Executive Director of the Lillys’ Lorraine Hansberry Initiative [NYC and Chicago]
