MISSION

This encouraging update is from the Rev. Jerry and Stacy Kramer sent on December 8.

“Our annual CONSPIRACY to put Jesus BACK in Christmas is rolling! HUGE thanks to ALL who have given so far. We start food distribution next week for the refugee widows and orphans in the Middle East. And the wires for our three orphanages that serve 1,500+ orphans in East Africa go out next week. These kiddos will celebrate Christmas with a meal, new outfit, and small gifts.

Food distribution for hundreds and hundreds of widows in East Africa will be in the days just before Christmas. We'll be there on-site to help and can't wait. It is such a joyous occasion!

Right now we have 1,500 food baskets for refugee widows, orphans and the elderly sponsored. We need 1,500 more! These are $30 each. If we go over, there are three Christian refugee villages here in Iraq that really need help.

With the UN abruptly cutting off all assistance to the 1.1 million refugees here -- no food, winter gear, medical care, nothing -- the need is more urgent than ever.

Christmas is just a couple of weeks away! If you’re looking for new meaningful, and tax-deductible gift ideas, look no further!

Donate in honor of loved ones, friends, and colleagues. It's simple! Give the gift of life and hope!”

Mere Anglicanism 2023
Telling a More Beautiful Story: Lessons from C.S. Lewis on Reaching a Fractured World
January 26 - 28, 2023

Mere Anglicanism is an event-oriented organization that provides the tools and resources to disciple, train, and educate lay and clergy leaders. They bring in thinkers and teachers who help people become informed, equipped leaders and who “take theology home with them.”

This January in Charleston, they will offer “Telling a More Beautiful Story: Lessons on Reaching a Fractured World”.  A panel of world-class theologians and Lewis scholars will present lessons from Lewis’s life and works that can inform the telling of the Gospel story with beauty, truth, and goodness. Specific topics will include longing and the imagination, the importance of Scripture, friendship, lessons from the Narnia stories, and dealing with suffering.

Registration is now open. Several CCA members have already registered and Claudia Thomas is happy to give more information to anyone who may be interested.
