Principal's Message
Dear O.H. Anderson Students and Families,
Thank you for all the generosity the OHA School Family has donated to support members of our community. Thank you to the student council for organizing and advertising
this important event that helps us make a
positive impact in our world.
Our OHA Student Council advertised this event in the e-news and talked about the impact our drive will make on our daily news each day. Our council also made signs to post in our school, and also collected and organized all the donated items.
Thank you again to all who donated and made this a successful event. Thank you to our Student Council for heading this drive and for all your hard work. We are grateful.
Reminder, tomorrow is dress up in your favorite Jersey/ Sports Team apparel to show how we "Teamed Up" to make the world a better place by collecting items for people in need and for exceeding our goal of collecting used books during the book fair.
Take care of yourself, your family, and each other.

Attendance- We need your help as we have been having a lot of unexcused absences. If your child is absent make sure you contact us usingO.H. Anderson Elementary School Attendance Form if the Google form is not working or you are having technical difficulties please call (651) 407-2308. If you do not contact us your student will be counted unexcused. Remember students should come to school unless they have a fever over 100 degrees F, have diarrhea, or have vomited. Absences are defined as follows:
Excused absences include:

Illness
Medical, dental, or mental health appointments
Religious holidays
Death or bereavement of a student’s immediate family member, relative or close friend

Any absences for which the student has been excused in writing by an administrator

The average student in the state of Minnesota misses a total of seven (7) days, excused and/or unexcused, in a school year. Students who miss more than seven days, whether they are excused or unexcused, are considered excessively absent. If there are attendance difficulties you will be contacted by the school. Please make every effort to improve attendance. We are required to report excessive absences to Washington County for possibleEducational Neglect and Truancy. If there are other concerns please contact your child’s teacher or Ms. McCabe our school counselorpamela.mccabe@isd832.net.

Please enter the drop off/ pick up line forming 2 lanes.
Merge into 1 laneby the Yellow star
Please follow the one lane of traffic indicated by the red arrows
The right lane is for loading and unloading only, the left lane is the no-stopping exit lane similar to airport parking.
Students may only be dropped off/ picked up on the curbside only for safety reasons.
They can exit and enter the car anywhere on the sidewalk on the Southand West sides of the building.
Please have name signs visible to expedite the pickup process.
Adults and passengers must remain in the car and say goodbyes in the car.
Students must safely walk to their designated door and directly to their classroom.
Adults must practice safe driving once moving to the left lane which is the no-stopping exit lane.
If no one is in front of you, we ask that you safely pull forward.
Please be aware of pedestrians in the crosswalk. They have the right of way.

Important Items for families to do this week
Donate -Tomorrow is the last day to send in Donations of NEW Winter Clothes, Books, and Toys for our Student Council Drive. Money donations or gift cards will also be accepted and put towards the purchase of items. Donations can be brought with students to their homerooms or delivered to the school office.
Chromebooks - Have been coming home to continue learning after school and to be prepared for e-learning days. Ask your child to log into Google Classroom and Google Apps to show you what they have been learning. This is where they would access all assignments so it is good practice in case we have e-learning days. Check out more information onOHA e-learning Day.
Dress for the Weather- Check the 50-degree rule. Make sure kids are wearing a jacket, boots, snow pants, hat, and mittens each day.

Join us in celebrating the great learning that is happening at OHA and seeing our strategic plan in action!
As adults at OHA, we collaborate and learn from each other in Professional Learning Communities and at professional learning training. We also recently had guided reading visits where teachers observed each other to learn best practices in small-group reading instruction.
