Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Assalamu 'alaykum!

As loving caregivers, we parents are naturally fascinated by the growth and learning of our children. We ponder the imponderables, such as ‘How did my child learn those words?’, ‘Why is my child curious about wheels?’ and even, ‘Why does my child not grasp the concept of telling time?’

In November, Unity Academy of Chicago invited parents for the first conferences of the school year. Our teachers tried to pull back the curtains and help parents see the inner workings of their child’s head, hand, and heart. Months of work and incremental changes were given concrete shape through observations about skills, habits, and attitudes.

A valuable tool to record children’s progress is ‘Transparent Classroom’, a web-based application. One of the most vivid and appreciated features of Transparent Classroom is that our teachers can send home photographs of children at work throughout the day. Photographs are carefully mapped to the work and learning plan of each child.

Through conferences and technology, parents and teachers are able to get meaningful insights into the developing souls of our children.

Enrollment for 2023-24 is now open

Unity Academy of Chicago is now accepting applications for the next school year! We offer two mixed-age Montessori programs:

Primary – for students between the ages of 3 and 5 years as of August 15, 2023. Hours are 9:00am - 3:00pm; a half day option is available from 9:00am - 12:00pm for 3 year old children.
Elementary – for students between the ages of 6 and 8 years as of August 15, 2023. Hours are 9:00am - 3:30 pm.
