As South Sudan hangs in the balance of a peace agreement, a mother and her two daughters return from exile. While the mother becomes central to a new government, her daughter’s struggle to come to terms with what it means to call South Sudan home.

Akuol de Mabior is born in Nairobi, Kenya. She is the daughter of the late John Garang de Mabior (leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army and the first Vice President of Sudan) and Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior, a South Sudanese politician, fighter for peace in a war torn country and an advocate for women’s equality. After spending years modelling, Akuol returned to Africa to pursue her studies, currently teaches at the University of Cape Town and actively learning about keeping bees and creating products from beeswax. No Simple Way Home is her first film.

Les amis, aimez-vous la baguette française ?
The baguette – a mix of wheat flour, water, yeast, salt and a pinch of savoir-faire, and as much a symbol of France as the Eiffel Tower – has gained UNESCO recognition as the UN body on Wednesday, 30 November 2022 voted to include the "artisanal know-how and culture of baguette bread" on its list of Intangible Cultural Heritage.
 
L'Unesco a annoncé, le mercredi 30 novembre 2022, l’inscription de la baguette française sur la liste du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l'humanité. L'institution reconnait ainsi "les savoir-faire artisanaux et la culture de la baguette".
