Updating the SAREX training Concept of Operations (ConOps): We plan to do fewer intro-level task signoffs on Saturday SAREXs and exercise higher levels of proficiency. Squadron commanders and wing staff were briefed during a recent teams meeting about upcoming changes in the way we will do our OPs/ES training.
Possible Redfield Squadron: We had to postpone our Dec 9 in Redfield about a possible school-based cadet squadron due to weather. Looking to reschedule soon.
N832CP is back home in SDWG. Justin Johnson and Kurt Johnson flew the swap on Sunday Dec 11. It had been on loan to Kansas Wing for use in their glider program.

New leases for Sioux Falls have been signed at National Headquarters and sent to Signature Aviation for the aircraft hangar, squadron meeting place, and "wing room" in Sioux Falls.
State MOU: The revised Memorandum of Understanding between SDWG and the state of South Dakota is at National HQ for approval.
Lt Col Leo Becht. Long-time SDWG pilot and wing staff member Leo Becht died December 16 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, at the age of 84. Leo had been one of SDWG's most proficient and active pilots while employed by East River Electric in Madison and after his retirement in Spearfish. A funeral service is planned for June in Webster, SD.
Lt Col Glen Jensen. We have learned that Glen died earlier this year in Rapid City at age 91. He joined CAP in 1990 and was an active member, including serving as wing finance officer for several years. Although he had been inactive, he continued his membership each year. Here is his obituary.
