OPINION: When 5th year student Gabe Eugenio was making a playlist for the UP social media department, he had no idea that the project would offer him a glimpse into the lives of students. From heartbreak to relief, this is what he learned in the process.

STAFF OPINION: There is more to nature than what meets the human eye. Staff writer Ellie Black wants you to do one thing: go outdoors more. It's not about just disconnecting with the world around us, there is scientific research proving that nature is healing and good for humans, she writes.

STAFF OPINION: Why don't more Americans watch soccer? Maybe its the lack of exposure or understanding of the game. Photographer Gavin Brittion describes the exhilarating atmosphere of a soccer game while making his case for why more people should watch soccer.

STAFF OPINION: Photographer Shruthi Vijukumar has beaten the odds with her long-distance relationship. Going three years strong with her boyfriend that's 600 miles away from her, she takes a nuanced approach to why her relationship has been going strong. Absence really does make the heart grow fonder, she writes.

STAFF OPINION: Staff writer Netty Jurriaans felt powerful the first time she voted. 73% of registered youth voters did not vote in these midterms. For Jurriaans, voting is a privilege and one that she urges all to participate in.
