  • Saturday Dec 10
  • Monday Dec 12-Thursday Dec 15
    • No Evening Shuttle Service.
    • Program Office closes at 6PM.
    • Cafe Think closes at 6PM.
    • Long Business Library Hours (Study space only).
    • Perimeter doors close at 10PM daily.
Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics Completion Form
Due Dec 15
  • Students who will be completing the CBA requirements and graduating Dec 2022 should complete the CBA completion form by Thursday Dec 15.
  • Students may submit a completion form even if they hadn't submitted the CBA Statement of Intent form.
  • Students who complete the certificate will have this noted on their transcript and will receive an electronic certificate signed by Dean Harrison and Assistant Dean Jamie Breen.

Spring 2023 Important Dates
Please refer to the Spring 2023 Core Schedule for important dates

Blue & Gold
  • Financial Accounting combined Cohort Day Tuesday Jan 3, followed by Macro on Wednesday Jan 4 and Thursday Jan 5.
  • Financial Accounting combined Cohort Day on Tuesday Jan 17 (Monday Jan 16 is an holiday).
Lux
  • First day of class is Tuesday Jan 17.
Axe & Oski 
  • First day of class is Saturday Jan 21.

Important Reminders


Important Fall 2022 Grades Update
  • The deadline for professors to submit grades has been extended to Dec 31 in response to the continued UAW strike (deadline was previously Dec 21).
  • This means that there is a chance some final grades will not be available on CalCentral before University Curtailment begins on Friday Dec 23. 
  • Official grade letters will also not be sent out during Curtailment either.
  • Options:
    • If you know your employer has a fiscal year end deadline for reimbursements, please request an extension to Jan 2023 from your employer. If you need supporting documentation on University letterhead, email ewmba_office@haas.berkeley.edu
    • If your employer will accept multiple documents, submit a request for an Associated Fees Letter by Monday Dec 19 to supplement a screenshot of your grade on CalCentral or an unofficial transcript. The Associated Fees Letter lists the course, units, and associated tuition for that course (e.g. Data & Decisions, 2 units, $7,600).

Program Office Winter Break Hours
  • Monday Dec 19-Thursday Dec 22: S440 closed, Staff remote
  • Friday Dec 23-Monday Jan 2: Closed for University Curtailment/Winter Break
    • (Curtailment is when the entire campus shuts down for the week between Christmas and New Years.)
  • Tuesday Jan 3: Reopen at 11:30AM

Important Spring 2023 Reminders
Before you head out for winter break, please keep in mind these important dates for Spring 2023! 
  • First Day of Class for Electives
    • Evening: Week of Jan 17 (Monday electives will start the following Monday Jan 23)
    • Saturday: Jan 21
  • Add/Drop for Spring 2023 Courses
    • Review the Add/Drop instructions and Top Things to Know About Add/Drop before Jan 3.
    • If you have place yourself on a waitlist, yes, you may attend class to be sure are not behind if in the event you are enrolled. 
    • Please refer to the Registration Timeline as well for Add/Drop Round Dates:
      • Add/Drop Round 1: Jan 2, 12 noon PT-Jan 6, 12 noon PT
      • Add/Drop Round 2: Jan 16, 12 noon PT-Jan 20, 12 noon PT
      • Add/Drop Round 3: Jan 20, 4PM PT-Jan 25, 12 noon PT
      • Drop Only Round: Jan 25, 4PM PT-Jan 28, 11:59PM PT

Saturday Scoop


Dec 10 Student Services Reduced
  • Almost all classes are either remote or not meeting at all. We have reduced student services accordingly:
    • Meal service will not be available.
    • The Program Office will be closed and no staff will be available.
  • The buildings themselves are still open and available should you wish to take exams on-campus.

Parking & Transportation - Minor Advisory - Basketball
  • Berkeley Law Lot and Bowles should be available. Please take note of any posted signs at lot entrances or specific spots.
  • There is a Mens Basketball Game at 2PM. Park in Underhill Levels 3 & 4. Levels 1 & 2 are reserved for Basketball Season ticket holders.

  • We invite you to join us for our first Haas Heritage Celebration! Come kick-start 2023 celebrating the cultures and diversity that make our Berkeley Haas community so wonderful. We will have food, games and programming representative of many cultures around the world for all to enjoy! We invite you to bring a dish (for 5-10 people) that you feel represents your heritage and community. You can include details about your dish in the Heritage Celebration RSVP form.

Berkeley Haas Entrepreneurship Startup Seed Fund

What do they offer?
The Berkeley Haas Entrepreneurship Seed Fund, encompassing Trione Student Venture Fund and Sega Sammy Fund for New Media, provides $5,000 non-dilutive grants to early stage startups involving Haas students. The grants are intended for use in prototype development and customer discovery activities. These awards provide critical funding for high risk, high reward projects that best embody the Berkeley Haas Defining Principle to Question The Status Quo.

Whom does it benefit?
Startups with at least one current Haas student (all programs).

Relevant Dates
The Application Deadline for Fall 2022 is Sunday Dec 11 by 11:59PM PST.

  • Please join UC LAUNCH Demo Day to see the top UC startups pitch in our accelerator’s final round for up to $60K in prizes. This is the first time post-covid that we are back in person!

Haas Office of Sustainability ClimateCap Tix Available
  • The Haas Office of Sustainability has five tickets to the Climate CAP summit happening in Austin, TX from Feb 24-25, 2023. Climate CAP brings together MBA students, business leaders, and experts from around the world to assess the implications of climate change for business and investment.
  • At the Summit, students gain a deeper understanding of how climate change is shaping industries and markets, where the biggest financial and operational risks lie, and what promising innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities are emerging.
  • We are accepting applications for students interested in attending. We are paying for travel and conference registration. The application is due Sunday Dec 18. Read more about the ClimateCap application process.
