Morgan Architecture Students Fundraiser for Rotterdam Trip

Students and Faculty from Morgan State University, School of Architecture (MSU SA+P) are resuming the Spring trip to Rotterdam!

The trip, taking place between March 12-19, 2023, includes visits to architecture and urban design offices (e.g. OMA, MVRDV, …), architecture schools (lectures and workshops), tours (Rotterdam and Amsterdam). Experiential travel education offers an impactful opportunity for students to gain global understanding and exchange ideas about architectural design, planning, resiliency, and sustainability.

We invite you to become a Sponsor to help cover travel costs for the students and faculty. Sponsors have an opportunity to extend their trip beyond March 12-19 and visit more cities, such as Utrecht, Delft, Antwerp and Brussels.

Students and faculty are already working to raise funds for their trip: please visit 32nd Street Farmers Market (Waverly neighborhood) every Saturday in December until Christmas from 7am-12pm.

STEMcx seeks host firms for Summer Practicium

STEMcx, in partnership with Bmore NOMA, is seeking host firms for the Summer Practicum for underrepresented minority (URM) high school students during the summer of 2023. This program is created to inspire this URM community in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines and give them positive experiences that will hopefully last a lifetime. Practicums place URM high school students in eight-week paid summer experiences working directly with educators, local companies, and community organizations in STEM areas.

STEMcx is seeking architecture firms in the Baltimore region to host one intern for one 4-hour session to include shadowing experiences, design exercises, one-on-one discussions with team members, or construction tours. Firms only need to commit to one 4-hour session.

E-mail STEMcx chair Sandy Adams at stemcx@gmail.com or nomabaltimore@gmail.com to learn more about hosting an intern for a day or sponsoring the program.
