Crime Map and Updates

Welcome to our new map. You can search by address, date range, case number, or specific crime type. The map includes serious felony crimes, vehicle prowls, thefts (except shoplifting), and arrests beginning in Nov. 2020. Notable Trends

  • Officers arrested suspects in the three aggravated assaults reported over the last two weeks. In one case, the suspect hit the victim in the head with an axe. In another, the victim pushed a family member, causing the victim to hit their head. In the last case, the suspect pushed a Corrections Officer in an attempt to escape from jail.
  • Fifteen auto thefts reported during the two weeks with one still an open investigation. The majority occurred on the westside. Officers arrested a suspect when they located one of the cars occupied. Nine of the vehicles were recovered. Two were unreturned rentals that got returned after the police report was filed. Five of the thefts were older Ford trucks.
  • One robbery reported that is still an open investigation.
  • Almost 50 thefts and vehicle prowls reported over the two-week period. Seven license plates were stolen. Multiple cars had windows smashed and laptops stolen. There was also a firearm, tools, purse, wallet, DJ equipment and climbing gear stolen in vehicle prowls.
  • Six residential burglaries reported. One was a violation of a no contact order. The suspect had left prior to officers arriving and charges were referred to the prosecutor. Officers arrested a suspect in one case after he assaulted multiple people on private property while trying to get into a members-only bathroom.

Other Items

  • Toy Run is tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 3, at 1:00 p.m. Parts of Pacific Ave, State Ave, Capitol Way, 5th Ave and Deschutes Parkway will be closed for the event. Please get to town early to watch the event or avoid the area for the hour. You can view the route map and get more info on the event here.

  • Are you heading out of town for the holidays? Sign up for our Vacation Home Checks. OPD volunteers will come check on your house while you’re gone. You can fill out the application at OPD’s lobby in City Hall, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
