Featured Activities

Here are our top activity pics for the spring holidays:
Sailing & Cetacean Science

Cetaceans are a group of marine mammals which include whales, dolphins and porpoises. In the Swan-Canning River, we have a community of Indo-pacific bottlenose dolphins and a team of scientists who research them! Join us for fun-filled, adventurous and educational morning where participants will become 'cetacean scientists' and discover how we monitor the dolphins in the Riverpark before heading out on the 36ft yacht to learn the basics of sailing with the team from Swan River Sailing. While onboard not only will you steer and maneuver the boat through the river, but you will also be surveying the water for dolphins and if lucky enough, even snap some photos of them for us to identify back on land.

For ages 12-16 this activity is held at Royal Perth Yacht Club on Friday 20th of January 9.00am-12:30pm.
Tickets can be purchased for $35.00 online.

Operation Wallaby

The Western Brush-wallaby / Kwoora is a shy marsupial rarely seen in its bushland home. Explore some beautiful bushland, identify, find and follow their tracks to discover the elusive wallaby. Make your own wallaby print and play ‘Outfoxed’ a fox and wallaby game and see some wildlife up-close in an animal encounter.

For ages 7-12 this activity is held at Piney Lakes Environmental Education Centre on Wednesday 11th of January 12.30-2.30pm.

Tickets can be purchased for $15.00 online.

Shipwreck Snorkelling

Join a qualified snorkelling instructor and explore the Omeo wreck under the waves. Identify fish, corals and maybe even a sly eel hiding away amongst the shipwreck. Once you’re done exploring the reef head back to shore and discover amazing facts about this incredible ecosystem and use science  to see the impacts on the delicate reefs.

Please note, snorkel, mask and fin hire are included in the cost. The is an additional cost for wetsuit hire. Children are recommended to have a bit of snorkel experience and a confident swimmer.

For ages 10-16 this activity is held at Coogee Maritime Trail on Wednesday 18th January 8:00-11:30am.
Tickets can be purchased for $35.00 online.

Covid-19 practices

With Covid-19 amongst the Western Australian community, we want to ensure the health and safety of our participants, staff and volunteers.

We will be keeping in line with the Department of Health and while the circumstances may be frequently changing, we appreciate your patience and understanding while we navigate through the July school holidays to keep to program running as smoothly as possible.

We will be following the same cancellation policy as last season, which will provide an ease of mind if you are needing to cancel at the last minute due to a Covid-19 related reason. You can view the full policy here and it will also be sent as an attachment in your activity booking confirmation email.

If you, your children or another household member have been advised to isolate, are awaiting a Covid-19 test result or have a positive Covid-19 case, we ask that you do the right thing and not attend your activity/ies. Know Your Patch has the right to turn any participants away who may be displaying Covid-19 symptoms for the health and safety of the other participants, staff and volunteers.

Keep up to date with Covid-19 at Department of Health.
