Palm Springs, CA
Hello and welcome back!

Derek here again this time.

We have made it through our first week at the RV resort in Palm Springs, CA.  On Tuesday the park's crew moved a golf cart that was parked under the metal gazebo.  The owners of the site do not want us using it, so it was moved to the back corner.  They then gave us a key to the storage shed and it was full of outdoor furniture we are allowed to do.  John spent a few hours getting it setup on our site.  Here's a picture of it:

We had several days with high wind - something that is not uncommon here.  One day we had 40+ mile per mile wind gusts that gave our fabric awning toppers a workout.  It was so bad one evening, we pulled the slide in on the drivers side in for the evening.

The wind had us concerned about the Starlink antenna being blown off the roof, so John ordered a Flagpole Buddy to mount it on.  It arrived in a few days and was easy to install on the back ladder.  I think it looks nice.

Starlink has been working well for us here.  We ran into a few short periods of slowness during the work week, but it did not last.  We do notice that we run into slower internet speeds in the evenings.  My guess we get prioritized when more people are online at night.

We went out grocery shopping on Tuesday evening.  We went to a local Von's and it was fine.  They are owned by the same parent company as Albertson's - so my Albertson's card worked with them. Their prices were better then in Yuma and their selves were better stocked.  Today (Sunday) we went to a Stater Bros. grocery store to get some mixers and things to fully stock our bar.  They were also a nice store.  So now I have to figure out which one we like best - or we may alternate back and forth.

This weekend the weather has been really nice with highs in the mid-60's and lows in the 40's.  Have been enjoying swimming in the pool at the RV park.  It is heated and there is a hot tub. The best part is that there are not many flies (like in Yuma):

We have been re-connecting with some old friends and meeting new friends at the RV Park.  Has been super nice spending time with friends who have been asking us to come out to Palm Springs for years.

This evening we went to a Denny's for supper.  Here is quick photo I snapped on the way - I thought the clouds were pretty:

Not much else going on.  We are relaxing a bit this evening thinking about how we go back to work on Monday morning.  Here is a parting photo of the cats I snapped today:
