Dear Members,
I would like to thank you all for your thoughtfulness and commitment to making music at the highest level this past year. I hope you have a wonderful Holiday Season and you find joy as the year ends and new one begins.
I would also like to acknowledge the accomplishments IMTA made this past year. Despite COVID-19 concerns, IMTA maintained a superior standard of activities and events. Virtual and onsite recitals, presentations, and competitions were offered. A new satellite AIM festival exam site was created. An in-personal state conference was conducted after two years of virtual gatherings. All the accomplishments could not have been realized without the diligence and hard work of IMTA board members and local association presidents/officers behind the scenes.
Many thanks must be given to DJ Smith (conference chair), Hamilton Tescarollo (onsite coordinator), Purdue University Fort Wayne (host university), and many others who had helped to bring our conference to a success. It was wonderful to see and sit next to familiar faces as well as to meet new IMTA members in person.
Regarding students’ competitions, the winners of Opus Composition Festival had their pieces performed at the state conference. The winners of MTNA Competitions at the state level had been announced and promoted to the national level. More details can be found on IMTA website or in the letter following this message.
Lastly, I would like to remind you that the deadline of early registration of MTNA 2023 National Conference is December 5. If you do not know your plans yet, you can still register later. Please follow the link for more information.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude for your dedication to MTNA/IMTA. Your friendship, professionalism and support are the core of the organization. Happy Holidays!
