CFJ - Second Semester 2022 Newsletter

Dear CFJ Supporter,

Cause for Justice has the privilege of looking back over another fruitful year. We would like to share updates on our work over the last six months of 2022.

Below is an overview of our four focus areas. Each segment links to a more detailed review blog post, giving you an opportunity to delve deeper into these important issues.

The four strategic areas covered are:

  • The sanctity (inherent worth/dignity) of human life – defending the inherent worth/dignity of all members of the human family, irrespective of age, physical location or level of independence.
  • Family, parents and children – defending family values and the best interests of children.
  • Constitutional freedoms – ensuring we can all continue to freely and responsibly exercise our faith without fear, and express sincerely-held views, beliefs and opinions in the public interest.
  • Defending human dignity by eradicating sexual exploitation – keeping our society, and particularly women and children, safe from the harmful impact of explicit content and sexual exploitation.
THANK YOU AND FAREWELL!

It is with a great sense of loss, and also with immense thankfulness, that Cause for Justice bids farewell to two of our greatest stalwarts over the past five and two and a half years, respectively.

Liesl Pretorius, an experienced litigation attorney, joined CFJ in January 2018 full-time and has been a steady and high-performing team member in the years of flow (pre-pandemic) and ebb (pandemic and immediate aftermath). She has been an indispensable part of the CFJ legal and advocacy team and contributed significantly to our successes and achievements over the course of her five-year tenure with the organisation.

We wish her the Lord’s richest blessings in her future endeavours.

A heartfelt, “Thank you, Liesl” from the CFJ Board.

Stefanie Kotze, a very gifted legal intellectual, initially joined CFJ on a seconded internship during the 2020 pandemic, and after six months became a permanent member of the CFJ legal and advocacy team (at the start of 2021).

Stefanie’s acute sense of justice and perceptive legal mind has been a major benefit to CFJ over the past two and a half years, and her contribution will be sorely missed going forward. More than her contribution, she will be missed and fondly remembered as a younger sister.

From the CFJ Board, “Go on, Stefanie, we are behind you to support and cheer you on to the next high heights!”

CFJ NEEDS YOU!

HELP BY DONATING

In 2022, Cause for Justice has worked fearlessly and diligently to protect and advance the rights, freedoms, interests and causes that matter most to you and your loved ones.

For us to continue with this important and valuable work in 2023, we want to emphasise that every financial contribution (monthly, ad-hoc or once-off), no matter how large or small the amount, matters and makes a huge difference to enable us to keep working in the cause for justice!

A sincere, “Thank you,” to every person and entity who already supports our vision and mission.

We look forward to starting 2023 off refreshed, and ready to stand for the value of life, human dignity, freedom of religion, conscience and belief, and protecting children and families.

Yours in Justice,

Ryan Smit

On behalf of the Cause for Justice Board
