Dear Breton Downs Families,
Congratulations to our FIRST LEGO League Explore and Challenge teams for their hard work and efforts preparing for last week’s events! Our FLL Explore teams, with students in grades K-2, showcased their efforts last Thursday evening at EGR Middle School. They had a wonderful turnout and did a marvelous job explaining their projects to attendees. On Saturday, our FLL Challenge teams, with students in grades 3-5, competed at the regional level at That One Robo Battle of the Minds. Wealthy Elementary Team Power Up placed second in the innovation project category and third overall. They will move on to compete at the State level, along with a team from Lakeside, this Saturday at Mason High School. Congratulations to all our FLL teams!
On Wednesday, December 7 from 1-3 p.m. all Breton Downs students and staff will travel by bus to East Grand Rapids High School to hear the orchestra, band, and choir perform. A big thank you to Bree Mitchell, the EGRHS Director of Orchestras, who helped organize this performance for our students. We look forward to this fun event!
We had a HUGE turnout for Family Movie Night on Friday, December 2. Our students enjoyed eating popcorn and watching Minions: The Rise of Gru as they camped out on our gym floor. Thank you to Amy Pugh for popping popcorn from 4-8 p.m. and for the Breton Downs PTO for sponsoring this event.
Community Kindness Day
This is the last week for families to donate items for Community Kindness Day. Listed below are the local agencies our students are supporting. All donations need to be made by Monday, December 12. There will be boxes located in the main hallway to drop off donations.

Winter Showcase
This year Breton Downs will host a Winter Showcase on Tuesday, December 13 at 9:15 a.m. in the gym.. This event is a musical performance for students, teachers, and families, and will include a slideshow of photos demonstrating work in Specials courses (Art, Music, Physical Education, and Spanish) throughout the first semester.
