A tradition in the EdHub is to celebrate the success of our community members as they strive to advance educational access, quality, and equity in their local contexts. Read on to learn about the LXD Interns 1st semester!
The fourth cohort of the Learning Experience Design Certificate program is nearing the completion of its first semester. The certificate program, offered through the School of Education and supported by the Rackham Graduate School and the Center for Academic Innovation (CAI), engages students in classroom instruction around the theoretical foundations of learning experience design that support an internship experience at CAI.
During this first semester, students completed an onboarding training and began shadowing ongoing online learning design projects alongside the Learning Experience Design team. Since then, students have contributed to the creation of learner personas, the crafting of learning objectives, the drafting of assessment questions, and even the development of immersive, extended reality learning experiences developed using 360-degree video software. In addition to project work, students have also engaged in weekly research conversations, developed accessible slide handouts for learners, and offered feedback as part of beta testing for completed course projects.
As the semester concludes, the program students are wrapping up work on their own immersive learning experiences using 360-degree video. Their ambitious projects range from virtual tours around campus and the School of Education to how-to guides on how to make use of The Ride transit system to a space exploration of the solar system! These projects are just a small part of a larger ongoing effort by students to demonstrate the core competencies of the learning experience design program. The students have done an outstanding job thus far and we look forward to seeing how their work progresses in the winter semester!
