Urgent Filming Enquiry - Channel 4 Food Unwrapped

An email has been sent in from Stephanie Symington asking for an expert to join filming for Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped week commencing 12th December. The request is for an independent drinks expert, rather than a representative of the Guild. Details are below. Please get in touch directly with Stephanie to express your interest. Stephanie’s email address is stephanie.symington@ricochet.co.uk

Cheers!

I am a Senior Researcher on Channel 4’s Food Unwrapped. We are hoping to do a mini recreation of this study about Beer Preference, and I am seeking a Beer Expert to be our on-screen expert? Is there anyone within the Guild that you think would be best suited to help?

https://www.mdpi.com/2306-5710/2/4/25 [Bottled Vs Canned Beer: Do they Really Taste Different?]

We are looking to Film the W/C on 12th December (Most Likely Tuesday or Wednesday) – so my first question is would they be available and willing to be our on-screen expert for this story? (We would be filming near Nottingham)

For info: Filming would only take one day and would involve a small crew, including our presenter, a self-shooting Producer/Director, DV director and a location assistant.

We have been in touch with all researchers who worked on the original study, but they are not available to film with us.

So, you have it, here is some more info about the series and Ricochet:

The award-winning Ricochet TV is one of the UK's leading production companies. We make the popular food series 'Food Unwrapped' for Channel 4, and this will be the 11th year of making the series. Over the years, we have featured many large and small food manufacturers from around the world, as well as leading scientists, historians and other experts. This popular prime time series has been a huge hit in its slot and is typically Channel4’s most watched programme of the night when it airs. Our finished episodes are also sold internationally to multiple territories, including Australia, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Israel, Denmark, Poland and widely across the Caribbean and South America.

Food Unwrapped explores all kinds of issues surrounding the food and drink we consume, from modern production methods to how food tastes and affects our health. In these programmes, we reveal unexpected facts about our favourite foods that viewers may find fascinating or surprising, and give our audience a greater understanding of the food on their plates.

Thank you greatly for your help and I look forward to speaking with you!

Best wishes,

Stephanie Symington
