New Leader Advantage

Have you recently taken a new role with direct reports? Are you new to University of Tennessee? Do both of these apply to you?

New Leader Advantage (NLA) will provide leadership development sessions that can help you maximize your success as you transition to the newness of your position. We will be partnering with campus to bring you knowledgeable and experienced leaders who can share their experiences and insight to a variety of topics and concepts that are important to new leaders.

New leaders are faced with navigating their way through multiple levels of change that can be imposing. Understanding and responding to challenges of relational and functional change, for you and your team, can help leaders and teams maximize success and minimize resistance.

Upcoming New Leader Advantage Sessions

  • The Connecting Puzzle Piece: The Power of Why?

    • January 12, 2:00-3:30pm (Hodges Library)

    • This session presents new leaders with the importance of alignment between our “Why” and the UT Knoxville strategic vision. Great leaders and teams need more than just hard workers. Everyone has a ‘why’ and helping you and your team connect personal and department goals to the ‘why’ of UT Knoxville may be the missing piece to move from functioning to high performing.

Look for more sessions as we continue offering these opportunities to New Leaders on our campus.
