Warming Up for a Successful Winter: Weekly Tip!

Tip #6: Activate a tandem connection

Pairing up with your local school for Winter Reading amplifies your reach, generates excitement, and gives students more reading resources over winter break. Our Winter Reading Report found that 80% of winning schools have an active tandem connection with their local library.

Consider doing outreach to local schools ahead of the 2023 Winter Reading Challenge to boost your community's reading! Talk with your client success manager if you're interested in starting a tandem connection soon.

Voice Through Verse: A Renée Watson Reading Challenge

Renée Watson, New York Times bestselling author and recent guest on The Reading Culture podcast, prepared a reading challenge just for us! Unsurprisingly, her theme is reading and writing in verse.

Renée believes in the power of poetry and uses poetry as a way to get to the heart of the matter. She invites you to read some of her favorite books and novels in verse, and then to take up a pen yourself and write a poem in response to what you read. All challenge materials, along with printable reading logs, can be found here. Listen on Apple, Google, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.

Interested in being a featured librarian on The Reading Culture podcast? Write to jordan@beanstack.com to set up your interview!
