Dear readers,

The United Nations adopted a resolution by consensus on “Sport as an enabler for sustainable development” during the 77th Session of the General Assembly. The resolution emphasises the transformative role sport can play in these turbulent times. We also feature the UN Secretary General Report for 2022: Sport: Catalyst for a Better, Stronger Recovery.

Last week was the 2022 Week of Action on sport and refugees. We received over 20 articles in English and French in the build-up and hosted an interactive webinar (recording here)! We also feature the launch of the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR’s) first ever sports strategy.

Finally, we highlight the inaugural Sport for Social Change Africa Awards, a reminder about the FIRE+ survey on football and refugees, an article in French from our call for articles, a call to apply for research grants from the Olympic Studies Centre, and an article calling for enhanced sport policies in India.

Happy reading,
