Last Chance to Help in 2022!

2022 has been a challenging year for shelters and rescues. We don't expect 2023 to be much better. When polled in September, 35% of pet owners* said they were concerned about  the expense of having a pet and 14% said they could no longer afford one. We hear from people everyday who want to surrender their dogs.

Adding to our concern is the number of abandoned Pyr puppies being found and surrendered to rescues and shelters. The Christmas Miracle pups (above) came to us a few days ago. They were found on the side of the road by people who kept them a month but were easily swayed to surrender them all for $30. Thank goodness they gave up the pups. Their fur was matted and caked so badly on their behinds and legs, it had to be cut out. It took  four  hours to bath them.  Their nails were starting to curl and when you picked them up you could feel every rib. These babies should weigh 30-40 lbs and are only 15, 16, and 18 lbs. Now safe in rescue they are quickly gaining weight! The boy has gained 6 lbs. in 5 days and his sisters 3 lbs. each.

We are learning about new unwanted litters almost every day. These are the last days of 2022 to make a donation to help us cope with the large number of unwanted dogs. There's still time to add your name and message to our donor list and get a tax-deduction.

Please consider buying a 2023 calendar, which is another way to help. Your calendar purchase supports Great Pyrenees rescue efforts in many states.

Please click on the donate button below to take action. Make your last donation of 2022, buy a calendar to Help Save More Pyrs or both. Our deepest thanks to everyone who has donated for caring about the dogs.
