In Floating EKA we believe that the real basis for our freedom and the freedom of our societies should be equality and love. During those 12 months of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the basis for my personal freedom and my lifeboat became Floating EKA and its projects.

In March 2022, together with creators from Poland, Ukraine, Belarus and Russia, we launched an incredibly ambitious project "SĄSIEDZI.СУСIДИ.СУСЕДЗI.СОСЕДИ". We attempted to understand each other and to look into the multifaceted nature of neighbouring relations through documentary theatre.

This project helped us look not only at the horrible events of the last year but also inside ourselves. Thanks to this project, we realised that the basis of solidarity is empathy, co-creation, cooperation and compassion for one another.

In less than a week the first part of the project — “NAJEM OKAZJONALNY” / “The Occasional Rent” will have it’s premiere! The event will take place on 27 of February at the Kana Theater, Szczecin. If you happen to be in Szczecin, be sure to visit the performance, the entrance is free. The performance will be filmed and have an online premiere later — we’ll get you updated.

On the beginning of March the next performance will be premiered in Kyiv. It’s called “ЛЮТИЙ” which in Ukrainian language means “February” — the month that lasts already 1 terrible year. Check out our Instagram & Facebook pages to learn more about the idea behind “Лютий”.

Next month I will shed more light on the Belarusian and Russian productions. 

We’ve already started to work on “The Neighbours” on-line zine. Right now we’re collecting the content such as interviews with the creators, experts and back-stage photos&recordings. The next step is web development.
