LZX End-of-2022 Update

Greetings, LZX artist!

The end of 2022 coincides with the end of a few long projects and a fresh focus on Chromagnon. This week we released Swatch, an open ended tool for exploring color palettes outside of the typical RGB process. Swatch's circuit is part of a series of modules related to Chromagnon development. With each module release we move closer to Chromagnon completion. Which leads one to inquire...
When will Chromagnon begin shipping?
January 2023 bears witness to the beginning of TBC2 and DWO3 shipments, allowing the team to turn its full focus to Chromagnon. In the past we have approached timeline estimates with characteristic optimism, basing our guesses on everything going right. After three whole years of so many things going wrong, we are taking the opposite approach. Much like the retired LZX Production Schedule, we have created a project timeline spreadsheet that one can follow along with, as Chromagnon progresses to completion. The dates on the spreadsheet reflect pure pessimism. If 2023 is rife with the delays and missteps of 2022, the newest Chromagnon pre-orders will ship in late Fall. Follow along with the new timeline spreadsheet HERE.
But wait, there is more big news about Chromagnon! After trying all available options to keep Chromagnon's price as low as possible, LZX has finally yielded to inflation. The new MAP price of Chromagnon has increased to $1599. The cost of everything surrounding boutique electronics manufacturing has risen exponentially in the past couple years and thus Chromagnon must follow suit. If you have already pre-purchased Chromagnon at the old price, you will not have to pay more.
How about TBC2--what's up? The firmware for the long-awaited dual TBC input module has been completed and released. The team has been putting TBC2 through intensive testing to find and eliminate even the smallest of bugs. We really hoped to have the first pre-orders in the mail before Christmas, but we did not meet that goal. Hopefully we can finish fine tuning the firmware and begin loading it onto the finished modules this coming week. Success next week means TBC2 shipping in the first half of January.
And DWO3? After a small parts delay, we have assembled our first production module. Testing that module begins this coming week and, once passed, full production for DWO3 begins. That timeline puts DWO3 fulfillment around mid-January.
The LZX team thanks you immensely and eternally for your patience with our struggles this year. Things have been tough, but through it all we have managed to produce and stock a dozen modules. One can now purchase a complex and complete pattern-generating video synthesizer system that will ship within a couple of days. This is the first time in LZX history that so many modules have been available at once and it is a sign of good things to come in 2023.

Here's to a cheery holiday season and an exciting new year.
