Planning & Zoning

Arcadia Towers Proposal Notice:  The 30-day notice expired on December 14th at 5pm. Wellington did not receive any additional proposals. After the New Year, Wellington and Arcadia Towers will finalize the draft agreement for the marketing of Village/Acme-owned property for potential cell tower installation. The agreement will be brought to the Council in the first quarter of 2023.

Code Compliance

Fairlane Farms Road Parking Complaint:  Code Compliance received a citizen complaint concerning golf carts parking in the swales.  Wellington Code Sec 22-10: H does not allow parking in the swales.   An initial inspection found not only golf carts, but businesses utilizing the Village swale for spill over parking.  For one week Code officers placed parking pamphlets on all the vehicles parking in the swales to inform owners that this is not allowed.  The golf cart owner was notified that he cannot leave his golf carts in the swale with “For Sale” signs on them and that parking his golf carts in the swale is not allowed.

Follow Up Inspection:  It was observed that some owners ignored the parking pamphlets and continued to park in the Village swales. PBSO was contacted and parking citations were issued to vehicles parking in the swales.  The golf carts were removed from the swale by the owner.   Code and PBSO continues to monitor this situation.

Strategic Planning

Sports Tourism:   A draft memorandum of agreement (MOU) has been completed and sent to the Palm Beach County Sports Commission for review. The next step is to review this draft MOU with the United States Polo Association. Once the MOU draft is coordinated, it will be presented to Council for approval.
