Merry Christmas! As we celebrate the 12 days of Christmas, we present a favorite top-ranked bull each day with semen available for immediate shipping. Bulls from all 4 of our dairy breed offerings will be included.

Thankfully, our focus will stick to bulls, and not the menagerie featured in the quintessential holiday song! (One must wonder anyway what kind of “true love” would gift such things as a partridge, turtle doves, French hens, calling birds, geese, or swans?!)

We lead off our series with VH SWISH, a VH Spruce x VH Nerd, who is one of the most exciting additions to our Holstein lineup in some time! He’s the quality of bull that can go head-to-head with any genomic Holstein offered by domestic AI organizations. The reason is two-fold:

VH SWISH is indexed at +40 for Nordic Total Merit (NTM) and this puts him in the #1 rank among bulls with semen available.

We know he will compete on the global scene because today’s Nordic bull population compares equally or better to other global Holstein bull populations when analyzed through Interbull.

Did you know:
Among genomic-tested Holstein bulls born in 2019 or later, Interbull reported that Nordic Holsteins (n=147) are superior for udder composite (+3.7 points), udder health (+6.8 points), and fertility (+5.4 points) compared with US Holsteins (n=1781) while being similar for production index (-1.9 points). However, Nordic Holsteins transmit smaller frame size (-5.7 points). The full Interbull report is available here.

VH SWISH has a profile that will suit ProCROSS and Holstein breeding strategies alike:

Outstanding production index of 130, especially strong in fat pounds (126) and protein pounds (121) and also with %Fat (124) and %Protein (137).
