All Wheels Up thanks you for your support this year!

As 2022 comes to an end, All Wheels Up would like to take a moment to say thank you for all of your support which enabled us to make significant progress in making air travel accessible for all. We are excited to end the year with the announcement of Senator Duckworth’s proposed legislation to the Emergency Vacating of Aircraft Cabin Act ensuring passengers with disabilities can safely evacuate an aircraft. We are looking forward to sharing with you the difference your support has made!

Your support funded the research of a roadmap, budget cost savings model, and the first report from doctors identifying the medical need for a wheelchair spot on planes. In addition, you made it possible for All Wheels Up to facilitate a highly collaborative working group with leaders from Boeing, Airbus, Southwest Airlines, Alaska Airlines, Jet Blue, the FAA and the Department of Transportation DOT. All Wheels Up’s volunteers engaged Congress, the FAA and key leaders in the industry to ensure wheelchair air travel passengers are considered. Also, we are excited to share that your support fueled the creation of first-ever annual National Accessible Air Travel Day to be recognized on August 20th.

One of the most significant achievements this year was Secretary to the Department of Transportation’s Pete Buttigieg public commitment to work toward passing a law that will allow air travel passengers to stay in their wheelchairs.

In 2023, your support is needed to help us tackle our biggest challenges! We will fund additional research and work with partners to address the FAA reauthorization act and establish an FAA Center of Excellence for accessible air travel. In addition, we are working with the airlines and DOT to identify the correct path to develop a budgetary impact model to address the long-term benefits and challenges of securing a wheelchair spot on an airplane.

Your donations, fundraising efforts, letters to your representatives and support are helping us make a difference! We are looking forward to engaging with you in the new year!

We are an all-volunteer organization working every day to make the dream of a wheelchair spot on airplanes a reality.

Here's to an amazing 2023.

Please donate today to support our mission for a wheelchair spot on airplanes. We are the first not-for-profit organization funding research and development for a wheelchair spot on planes. AWU’s mission is to increase awareness for safer and more dignified accessible air travel through research and advocacy.

There is so much research we have ready to start that just needs to be funded.
