ADVENT GIVING
This year’s Advent Giving projects are the Alliance Outreach to Venezuelan Refugees in Colombia and outreach to the African Diaspora now living in Ohio.  Our goal is to raise $10,000 to be divided between the two projects.

In 2020, facing large numbers of Venezuelan refugees coming to their town, a local Alliance church in Colombia started an outreach to Venezuelan refugees providing food, shelter, medical care and sharing the gospel.  Since its opening, it has housed over 500 Venezuelan migrants and 280 have found Jesus.  Here is a link to a video about that ministry.

Wellspring IWs Wes and Cori Nevius, after serving many years in Senegal, have now started an outreach to African Muslims in East Columbus – to the Senegalese, Mauritanian, Somali, and Sudanese.  Over 80,000 Africans are now living there and open to connecting for help.  The world is coming to the U.S. and God is opening a ministry to hear the gospel.

Please consider providing a special Advent gift to support these important ministries.  Just designate “Advent” when you provide your gift on-line here or via check, or text Advent to 630-283-7338.
ADVENT IMPEL
For those home groups that dive more deeply into our Sunday Advent sermons, here are a few questions that will hopefully stir heart movement this season. We hope this will help you listen to God's Spirit as you engage His Word together. For more ideas or help on Home Group discussions, contact Pastor Kathy here.
YOUTH WINTER RETREAT!
Wellspring Youth is having their annual winter retreat on January 13-16 at Expeditions Unlimited. The theme is "The Shepherd's Crook" and we will encounter the Christ that calls us towards Him. The cost will be $160/person. Online registration and payment are open now and will close December 31. To register, please contact Pastor James here.
PRAYER MINISTERS!
We now have Prayer Ministers available to pray with people following our Sunday worship services. We hope you will feel welcomed by our Prayer Ministers when needs arise or when the Spirit moves to bring you forward for prayer. May God's presence warmly stir this sacred space of ministry each week.
KIDS CAMP
Please mark your calendars and save July 17-21 for Kids' Camp 2023! We'd love to have your help with electives, meals, security, decorations, story telling, prayer, etc. It is a week of community building, formation and shining as Lights, together!

INTERNATIONAL WORKER FOCUS

Let's lift up Carissa Van Schooten serving with Alliance Missions in Germany

Carissa works in Berlin with the Arab/German team focusing on ministering to Arabic-speaking refugees who have relocated to Germany. Recently, Carissa has also been stepping into the Member Care side of things, and it has been a joy to come alongside several Alliance MKs and their families as they navigate transitions and losses.

She is thankful for:
-Good and meaningful relationships with my teammates, and a sense of camaraderie that has grown significantly in the last 6 months.
-Z continuing to press in and meet weekly for mentoring/discipleship. As the only believer in her family, her road to walk is not an easy one!

Please pray for:
-Endurance and vision. As she goes into 2023, there are unanswered questions about the focus and direction of ministry. Please pray that God would grant vision for what He wants to accomplish here.

THIS SUNDAY @ WHEATON
Christmas Day
Made Visible: John 1:1-18
 Pastor Mitch Kim

How can we see God? Moses was told that if he sees God, he would die. Yet this Advent season, the children have been writing a book, helping us understand how God is made visible. On Christmas, we will share their insights with everyone and give this book to each children who comes. Together we will see how from John 1:1–18 how God makes himself visible, how Jesus makes God visible, and how we can make God visible as well to the world.
