IT'S TIME TO DOUBLE THE IMPACT
It’s been a busy year for Zambezi Elephant Fund, with new projects starting up. Next year, we’re eager to see each of these projects grow, and continue to flourish, especially the human-wildlife coexistence initiative, which is tackling what we now see as the most urgent threat to elephants in the Zambezi Valley – the diminishing safe space in which they roam due to human activity.
Flying For Wildlife carries out aerial surveillance for various objectives – species counts; geographic changes; presence of illegal activity – fishing, gold panning, bush meat poaching, logging; carcass counts, etc.

HELP KEEP THEM AIRBORNE
The Zambezi Society works with the community throughout the Charara area with a team of Human Wildlife Co-existence Officers who raise awareness, collect data, hold workshops – all with the aim of mitigating human wildlife conflict.

HELP HUMANS & WILDLIFE CO-EXIST
The Zambezi Society (Zamsoc) supports the Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZPWMA) to carry out thousands of kilometres of law enforcement patrols and deployments in Mana Pools and the Charara Wildlife area, facilitating arrests, snare collections, in-field ranger training, road and infrastructure repair and maintenance.

KEEP BOOTS ON THE GROUND
ZEF is also proud to be supporting a new and exciting virtual reality project by The Zambezi Society, which aims to bring wildlife into schools through a virtual reality experience.

The pilot phase of the project went really well, and we are looking forward to continuing our support of this into 2023, as the project grows.

MAKE VIRTUAL A REALITY
My Trees Trust has been revolutionary in setting up community based reforestation at scale with a focus on biodiversity loss reversal and habitat protection. Along with this, My Trees protects critical wildlife areas through Human Wildlife Conflict reduction and anti-poaching activities.
