Updates from Ethiopia

God showing His creation through a beautiful sunset in our neighborhood.

In October, I was able to fly back to the states and spend time with my family. While I was there, I had an amazing baby shower in preparation for our sweet baby boy. I also spoke at my home church, Community Harvest, and had the opportunity to share all of the work I've been doing in Ethiopia. It was so great to see friends, family, and church members after a year.
While it's nearing Christmas in Ohio with cold weather, music, decorations, lights and maybe even snow, it's not quite the same here in Ethiopia. With 70 degree sunny weather and no signs of the traditional Christmas, it's a little confusing! Sometimes I feel homesick, but I try to bring a piece of that Christmas feeling into my home by decorating a Christmas tree.
"She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1: 21
Christmas in Ethiopia is on January 7th. While the traditions aren't the same, I try to remember the real reason for Christmas – the amazing gift that God has given us, His son Jesus! Right now in my women's Bible study, I'm reminding them what the holiday is really about – Jesus. I hope everyone has an amazing holiday season!
It doesn't seem real that I'm approaching 2 years of living in Ethiopia! So much has happened over that time, and I will be sharing a recap of the last 2 years in my January newsletter, so keep an eye out for that!
As I'm nearing the start of my second term serving as a full-time missionary, I am looking for monthly partners. If you have any questions about this mission work or monthly partnership, please feel free to reach out to me! If you feel led to become a monthly partner, click on the button below and under "Purpose" choose "Missionary Emma Geswein". Thank you for your support!
Become a Monthly Partner
I can't thank each of my monthly partners enough for joining me on this mission! You make all of this possible. I'm so grateful for these opportunities and I don't take it lightly that God is calling me to do this work. Please pray as I continue to work with many needy families and continue to adjust to life in Ethiopia.
