An Eco Friendly Holiday is Easy

Broward County Parks' Chip-a-Tree program is the easy, environmentally friendly way to dispose of your tree. This program runs from December 26, 2022 through January 16, 2023. There are 12 participating park locations.

Many types of wrapping paper, tissue, ribbons, etc. cannot go into your recycling bin. Get creative and skip the wasteful store bought wrapping paper. Use craft paper, old maps, a scarf or bandana (furoshiki style.)

Add organic and local foods to your holiday meals. Many retail grocery chains provide a shelf tag system that identifies locally sourced products.

Broward public high school students gather to speak to climate and resilience experts and discuss climate change action. Cooper City student Ethan Bober states "When making decisions about resiliency, it is essential to include youth...and include individuals from different backgrounds and experiences."
