2022 Accomplishments 
Regional Master Transit Plan Goals:

There are a total of 22 strategies within the five goals. Each strategy contains one or more action items. Actions should be taken by RTA and public transit agencies to expand transit, enhance services, develop innovative solutions, build partnerships, and secure revenue in the region, with the overall intent of supporting public transit options that advance equity, increase accessibility, satisfy mobility needs, and promote livable, healthy, and sustainable growth.
 
This month we are featuring 2022 Accomplishments. 

 

GoalExpand Transit to New Places |

  1. Detroit to Ann Arbor surpassed 5,000 rides per month 
  2. Detroit Workforce Mobility Equity Analysis
  3. SMART Flex zone expansions and Metropark Express  
  4. Awarded funding to pilot airport express service 

GoalEnhance Existing Services |

  1. The Ride 2045 & DDOT Reimagined
  2. Gratiot and Washtenaw Avenue PELs
  3. Regional Transit Corridor Strategy & Gratiot Avenue Transit Capital Funding Blueprint
  4. TC1 Zoning in Ann Arbor
  5. Richmond-Lenox EMS now offers same-day service

Goal: Develop Innovative and Adaptable Solutions |

  1. DDOT/SMART electric bus deployment and additional funding

GoalBuild Sustainable Partnerships |

  1. Access to Transit Program to fund and implement transit stop improvements

GoalSecure Long-term Dedicated Transit Revenue |

  1. Increased AAATA Millage
  2. SMART Millage
  3. Oakland County Millage (no more opt-outs)
  4. Michigan Avenue RAISE Grant BCA
  5. RTA Business Plan
  6. Funding for new staff
