Invest in news by immigrant journalists and journalists of color
Weare only $7,130 away from reaching our year-end crowdfunding goal of $40,000! Help us reach our goal by December 31, and take advantage of a generous 4X match between now and the end of the year. The money we raise will set us up for a successful 2023. Your contribution will have a real and lasting impact in our sustained and strategic efforts to increase representation of immigrants and people of color in America’s newsrooms.
We have big plans for next year, including:
Hosting our next Editing Fellowship, aprogram to develop a new generation of newsroom leaders and address the underrepresentation of immigrants and people of color in newsroom management.
Hosting a food journalism workshop for reporters, producers, editors, and journalism students from immigrant backgrounds and communities of color to develop their skills in pitching and producing meaningful food stories in text and audio.
Strengthening our unique brand of journalism by producing original content by freelance immigrant journalists and journalists of color.
Building on the success of Conecta Arizona, a community news service in Spanish we helped to start in 2020. We want to create other ‘Conectas’ around the country to combat the tidal wave of misinformation about Covid directed at Latinx communities on social media.
With you, we can turn these plans into reality. Thanks to NewsMatch and the Ralph E. Ogden Foundation, the impact of your tax-deductible contribution goes further. Make your gift by December 31 and quadruple your investment. These matching funds have been made available to us because of the groundbreaking work we do in advancing diversity, equity and inclusion, in community journalism, and in non-profit news.
Will you invest in high impact journalism by immigrant journalists and journalists of color?
P.S Please help us spread the word! Forward this email to friends and colleagues who you think would be interested in helping support our work.
