DEMOCRAT CARE BEAR ALERT!
MORE STUPID DEMOCRAT FEES AND TAXES IN 2023

The State Democrat Care Bears are at it again.  By now, you've probably already experienced the State Democrats' $.10 per disposable shopping bag fee, which went into effect on January 1.  The bill's sponsors claim this will save the planet by forcing customers to use their own shopping bags or pay a fine, thereby reducing plastic in landfills.  Remember when shopping bags were banned by stores during the COVID pandemic because they were so unsanitary?  The revenue will be split with vendors, municipal, and state government agencies; however, it is unclear exactly how it will be used.  Read more here.

But wait - there's more:  Now that Governor Polis has won his re-election in 2022, his $.02 per gallon gas tax - that he put on hold during the campaign - goes into effect April 1.
DEMOCRAT'S 2023 ROTTEN EGG FOR COLORADANS

Thanks to State Democrat Clucks, Colorado's chicken eggs will be in short supply and more expensive in 2023, due to a cage-free egg production bill that passed in 2020 and goes into effect this year.  This comes after millions of chickens and other domestic fowl succumbed to a nationwide Bird Flu epidemic in 2022, costing farmers tens of millions of dollars in losses.  The new regulations will cost farmers more money as they scramble to bring their operations into compliance.  Read more here.
FEDERAL REPORT SHOWS COLORADO'S
HOMELESS COUNT CONTINUES TO GROW

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's 2022 Annual Homeless Assessment Report, Colorado's homeless count was approximately 10,400 in the first few months of the year and has increased by 2,000 since 2021.  State and local governments are expected to spend nearly $2 billion in the next three years and have already spent millions of tax dollars on programs that aren't working.  This doesn't include the hundreds of millions of FEDERAL tax dollars the Biden Administration is throwing at the homeless crisis.  Read more here.
SANCTUARY COUNTRY + STATE + SANCTUARY CITY =
ILLEGAL MIGRANT CRISIS

Coloradans have a growing illegal migrant crisis on their hands.  Because of the Biden Administration's OPEN BORDER POLICIES and Governor Jared Polis' and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock's SANCTUARY STATE/CITY POLICIES, Colorado is being impacted by thousands of illegal migrants who are being funneled by bus from the U.S., southern border to Denver.  Hancock declared a state of emergency in December and has blown through millions of Denver tax dollars; now he's requesting millions more in State and Federal tax dollars to support the new homeless foreigners.

So far, no elected officials have suggested CLOSING THE BORDER, nor is anyone asking:  Who are these people?  Where are they going?  How many more are coming?  Colorado communities will have to absorb the cost to house, feed, educate, and provide medical care for its new residents.  Read more

WE DON'T KNOW YET.

After a hard-fought 2022 election, Republicans are in control of the U.S. House of Representatives.  Tuesday, January 3, 2023 should have been an exciting day of swearing in newly elected and re-elected members and electing Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker, who is supported by an overwhelming majority of members.

Unfortunately, a handful of disgruntled U.S. House Republicans have created chaos on what should have been a day of great celebration for all Republicans.  The handful refused to vote for McCarthy three times in a row and the next vote has been postponed until Wednesday, January 4.  Republican voters can only stand by and hope that unity and sanity will prevail, so that our elected representatives can GET TO WORK on critical issues like inflation, the southern U.S. border, energy independence, national security, and so many other Biden-made disasters.  Read more

ANNUAL FESTIVUS REPORT DOESN'T DISAPPOINT

U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky) recently released his "Annual Festivus Report 2022," which include his top picks for government tax dollar waste and overspending.  For context, keep in mind that the U.S. national debt is nearly $30 trillion.  Paul said, “This year, I am highlighting a whopping $482,276,543,907 of waste, including a steroid-induced hamster fight club, a study to see if kids love their pets, and a study of the romantic patterns of parrots.”  Read more here.
