During November, Egypt hosted COP27, in which AUC was honored to participate in with our very own pavilion. The pavilion had many sections, which included Virtual reality, 3D model displays, and 3D printed clay models by the architecture department. It also included a fish hydroponic system developed by the Center for Applied Research on the Environment and Sustainability (CARES). The pavilion also included a stage area where AUC faculty, students, and staff displayed their sustainability initiatives and research. The Office of Sustainability was pleased to be a part of these talks, where Eng. Yasmin Mansour, Sustainability Director, and Ms. Sahar El Ghandour, Sustainability Manager gave two talks on AUC's Carbon Footprint report. Egypt hosting COP27 was a great opportunity for us as a nation and for the region to raise awareness and information on climate issues, commit to making a change but also networking with the world to further advance our knowledge on sustainability and possible solutions.
