Final Week of the Food Drive!
Thank you to everyone who has participated so far in the 2022 State Employees Food Drive! As we enter this final week, state employees have donated over $67,000 to food banks throughout the state.

Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services Volunteer Day
At the end of December 2022, 20 state employees from various departments joined together for the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services volunteer day, and ended up filling over 740 boxes of food!
Thank you to staff from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, California Department of Food and Agriculture, Department of Rehabilitation, Energy Commission, and Secretary of State for volunteering!

California Department of Public Health Silent Auction
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) hosted a silent auction with 51 baskets and raised over $6,770 for the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services!

Department of Transportation's New Food Donation Event
The Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 11 team created a holiday food drive twist to their monthly Clean California Free Dumpster Days event, where the public are able to drop off non-hazardous household waste that could potentially end up on our freeways. Organized by the District 11 Disability Advisory Committee (DAC), the new Dump and Donate event included an opportunity for food donations.
District 11's Maintenance Team, Clean California Team, and Disability Advisory Committee came together for the event and were able to collect 287 pounds of donated food items and $95 for the San Diego Food Bank!

California Department of Tax and Fee Administration Staff Support Across the State
The California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) staff have been busy across the state supporting food banks!
Photos 1 and 2: Leslie Pestana, Annie Huang, and Natalya Moskal from CDTFA volunteered for the Alameda County Food Bank.
Photo 3: CDTFA staff member Aida Abkarian volunteered with family and friends at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and helped to sort 9,000 pounds of produce.
Photo 4: Jenny Yee, a staff member from CDTFA's San Francisco Field Office Division volunteered at the SF Marin Food Bank. Joining efforts with other volunteers, they were able to build over 1,100 grocery bags, resulting in over 23,000 lbs. of food for home delivery.
Photo 5: Yating Campbell, in coordination with their HOA did a food drive and collected 3,500 pounds of food for Joey’s Food Locker. There were two truckloads of rice and canned beans among the donations.
